Announced a few weeks ago at this year's IFA, the Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014) has finally reached the Indian shores. Justifying its name, the tablet sports a 10.1-inch "Super Clear" LCD screen with pixel dimensions of 2560x1600. The Indian variant is powered by an octa-core chipset (1.9 Ghz quad-core + 1.3 GHz quad-core). Multitasking shouldn't be an issue considering that the tablet flaunts 3 GB of RAM.
The Note 10.1 will feature Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Samsung TouchWiz UI. The interface mostly revolves around the digital stylus, which Samsung likes to call the S-Pen. During the launch event, Indian graphics artist Abhishek Kumar demonstrated how the Note 10.1 can produce some excellent sketches in right pair of hands. Coming to the subject of design, the tablet features a "textured back cover with faux-stitching effect" (as seen on the Note 3).
The GALAXY Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Wi-Fi + 3G is priced at Rs 50,000. That's Rs 5000 more than the Apple iPad 4 (Wi-Fi + Cellular) 32 GB. Until now, Samsung products received phenomenal response because it was considered as an affordable alternative to Apple. Now, with Samsung trying to go one up on Apple, it will be interesting to see how consumers will react to the change.
