Bangalore: Three Senior officers atHTC have been suspected on selling off trade secrets of the Taiwanese company to an unknown Chinesefirm. Reports by the China Times stated that the Taiwanese investigation team operated a search in the suspect’s residence and offices.
The officials were blamed for leaking out the technology used in HTC's yet to be unveiled Sense 6.0 interface for Android Smartphones. Suspects who sold the key interface technology were identified to be HTC’s Chief industrial designer, a division chief and a designer. However the officials were not arrested as they denied the allegation.
The three men were also alleged for using fake vouchers to claim more than 10 million Taiwanese dollars in terms of design fee. If found guilty on the theft of trade secrets and breach of trust, the accused can get upto 10 years of imprisonment
As per the information from the Central Agency, the accused officials had also started their own handset design units in China and Taiwan.
"The matter is under investigation by relevant authorities. We therefore refrain from further comments," HTC said in a statement.
