Looks like government organisations are taking digitisation very seriously. After the latest app that lets you apply for a passport, the Ministry of External Affairs, is out with an app of its own. Apart from keeping a track on your passport, the app lets you keep a watch of everything that the ministry is responsible form including Haj schedules, visa status, notifications, and other issued documents.
The app description says that the app is "single window source of all information related to Ministry's citizen centric services and outreach activities". The app is available free of cost for Android and iOS devices. Hopefully the app will work better and quicker than the government offices.
